1. Define the service area before spending
Star’s recorded county relationships are Ada County and Canyon County. That does not mean a firm should automatically target both counties, every nearby city, or every person searching from the area. Your service territory should follow the matters you can actually accept and the jurisdictions in which you practice. A narrow service zone may reduce irrelevant inquiries; a broader zone may make sense only when your intake team and attorneys can serve those locations. Bosseo’s public LSA page describes management of practice-area categories and service areas. It also states that targeting can be adjusted as circumstances change.
Recommended approach
Begin with a written map of accepted locations, excluded locations, travel limits, and any jurisdictional restrictions. Review Star separately from the surrounding Ada County and Canyon County geography. Ask which calls should be billable leads, which should be disputed, and which should never enter the program. Do not use Star’s population estimate as a forecast.
