1. Start with the correct geographic question
Waimanalo is a census-designated place in Honolulu County, not a synonym for the county, the state or a metropolitan area. That distinction matters when a managing partner asks whether a page, campaign or referral produced a Waimanalo inquiry. A record labelled only “Hawaii” or “Honolulu” may be too broad for the question being asked. The Census estimate provides population context for Waimanalo CDP, but it does not establish legal demand, competition, search volume, lead volume or revenue. Bosseo’s public Lead Attribution page describes journey records that include the channel, referrer, landing page, device, sessions and intake answers. Those fields give you a basis for reviewing geographic scope alongside the client’s own intake information.
Recommended approach
Agree on the geography your firm wants to evaluate before changing budget or content. Ask whether Waimanalo should be treated as a service area, an intake answer, a landing-page context or a reporting label. Keep Waimanalo CDP, Honolulu County and Hawaii separate wherever the underlying record supports that distinction. Do not use the Census population estimate as a forecast.
