1. Set the Kula boundary before designing the intake
Kula is recorded as a CDP in Maui County, not as a county or metropolitan area. That distinction matters when you decide what the intake should ask and how a submission should be routed. A visitor may identify Kula as the location connected to a matter, while the firm’s service area, office arrangements and eligibility rules may use a broader or different geographic definition. The intake should not silently turn a Kula inquiry into a Maui County-wide qualification, and it should not treat a place name as proof that the matter is suitable.
Recommended approach
Decide which geographic questions are legally and operationally relevant to each practice area. Review whether Kula should be an answer choice, a free-text detail, a routing field or simply part of the visitor’s description. Have the firm define any county, court, residence, incident-location or service-area rules before a flow is built.
