Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Scottdale as a census-designated place in DeKalb County, Georgia. Its 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate is 10,542, with a margin of error of 1,543. That figure describes the population estimate; it does not establish legal demand, search volume, competition, leads or revenue. It does, however, give your firm a precise geographic starting point for deciding how the dashboard should label and group local activity. A Scottdale view should not silently treat the CDP, DeKalb County, a judicial circuit, Atlanta or the wider metropolitan area as interchangeable.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing results, agree on geographic labels. Ask whether a report should separate Scottdale from DeKalb County, and whether broader Georgia or metropolitan activity belongs in the same view or a separate one. This prevents a local decision from being based on an unclear geography.
