1. Start with the correct geography: North Decatur and DeKalb County
North Decatur is recorded as a census-designated place in DeKalb County, Georgia. That relationship matters when you review a location-based dashboard. A North Decatur target is not automatically a DeKalb County target, and neither should be treated as interchangeable with a judicial circuit, court class or broader metropolitan area. The dashboard should therefore make the firm’s intended geography explicit in its tracked service-and-city targets and reporting questions. Population can help establish why a local measurement plan is relevant, but it cannot establish how many people need counsel or how many cases a firm will receive.
Recommended approach
Before approving reporting, write down the geographic labels you want reviewed: North Decatur, DeKalb County, and any broader areas your firm intentionally serves. Ask whether each label is attached to the appropriate service, page, call classification and decision. Keep court-system geography separate from marketing geography; Georgia Courts publishes official resources for citizens and legal professionals, but a place name, county, judicial circuit and court class are not interchangeable.
