1. Start with Lovejoy’s actual geographic relationship
Your firm should decide whether a news page is about Lovejoy city, Clayton County, Georgia more broadly, or another court or legal geography. Those labels are not interchangeable. The Census record identifies Lovejoy as a municipality and records its relationship to Clayton County. Georgia Courts publishes official resources for citizens and legal professionals, but a city, county, judicial circuit and court class should not be treated as the same geographic or legal unit. Legal News can be considered for stories whose geographic scope and practice relevance are clear; it should not be used to blur those distinctions.
Recommended approach
Create a geographic review rule before approving pages. Require each proposed article to identify the place named in the underlying event and explain why that place matters to the firm’s intended readers. If a story is statewide, say Georgia. If it concerns Clayton County, say Clayton County. Use Lovejoy only when the facts support that city-level description.
