1. Make city and county scope part of intake quality
A caller may identify with North Miami while asking about a matter that falls elsewhere in Miami-Dade County, another Florida location, or a jurisdiction your firm does not handle. Intake Coach can review whether the conversation captured the relevant location, dates, court or agency information when appropriate, and the next action. This is a coaching opportunity, not a conclusion that a North Miami caller is eligible for representation. The Census record identifies North Miami city as a municipality and records its county relationship as Miami-Dade County; it does not establish the boundaries of any practice area or the legal fit of a particular matter.
Recommended approach
Set a location rubric that distinguishes North Miami city, Miami-Dade County, other Florida locations, and matters requiring attorney review. Ask the responsible attorney to approve the questions and escalation rules. Use the resulting call reviews to find whether staff are collecting enough location information before promising a callback, consultation, or referral.
