1. Start with the market you actually serve
The U.S. Census Bureau records Memphis as a census-designated place in Manatee County, Florida. Its 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate is 9,185, with a margin of error of 1,620. That is geographic context, not evidence of legal demand, search volume, competition or likely lead volume. It does, however, make market definition important. A firm should distinguish Memphis from Manatee County, other Florida locations and any metropolitan area it chooses to target. Visitor location and the market targeted by a campaign are also different fields. Lead Attribution is relevant when those distinctions affect how you assess landing pages, campaigns and referrals.
Recommended approach
Before adopting attribution, write down the geographic labels your firm uses in advertising, landing pages, intake and reporting. Decide whether Memphis is a distinct market, part of a wider Manatee County service area, or one location among several Florida targets. Do not treat a Memphis visitor as proof that the inquiry belongs to the Memphis market.
