1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Lauderhill city and Broward County are not interchangeable scopes. The Census record identifies Lauderhill as a municipality within Broward County and records the city’s 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate as 74,896, with a margin of error of 53. That is useful for naming the market under review. It does not show that a caller lives in Lauderhill, that a matter arose there, or that a particular practice area has demand in the city. Intake Coach can help your team assess whether a call fits the firm’s service area and practice criteria. The conversation review should distinguish the caller’s location, the incident or proceeding location, and the county or counties relevant to the matter.
Recommended approach
Set a location rubric before reviewing calls. Ask whether the caller is in Lauderhill, elsewhere in Broward County, another Florida location, or outside the firm’s accepted area. Record the jurisdiction that matters to the case separately from the caller’s address. Treat any geographic expansion as a firm decision supported by your own intake records and attorney review.
