1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
A dashboard is only useful when its geographic labels mean what the firm thinks they mean. Largo, Pinellas County, Florida, a metropolitan area and an individual household are different scopes. A report that combines them without clear labels can make a local trend look broader—or narrower—than it is. the Census record identifies Largo city as a municipality in Pinellas County and records the 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimate noted above. It does not show how many people need legal services or how many prospective clients search for a particular practice area.
Recommended approach
Ask for separate geographic cohorts wherever the underlying data supports them. At minimum, review Largo and Pinellas County as distinct labels rather than treating the county as the city. If your firm serves additional cities or broader Florida markets, define those groups before interpreting a chart. Bosseo’s published product information also describes separating city cohorts, including Miami and Miami-Dade; for a Largo firm, confirm which local and regional cohorts are appropriate instead of assuming those Miami labels apply to your market.
