1. Start with the geography your intake team actually serves
the Census record identifies Islamorada, Village of Islands as a municipality and records its county relationship as Monroe County. A caller may describe a location as Islamorada, another Monroe County community, or simply the Florida Keys. Those descriptions are not automatically equivalent for your firm’s matter-acceptance rules. Intake Coach’s stated angle includes coaching on city versus county, which makes geography an explicit intake quality question rather than an assumption. The population estimate is context only; it does not show how many prospective clients call, which matters they bring, or whether a particular channel performs well.
Recommended approach
Give the team a defined geographic rubric to review: what location question should be asked, when should the caller’s county or municipality be confirmed, and when should a matter be referred or declined? Review call coaching for whether staff captured the relevant jurisdiction and explained the next step clearly. Keep the service area decision with the responsible attorney.
