Start with the workflow, not the software category
Off-the-shelf legal software is designed for a broad market. Your firm may instead have a particular sequence for receiving a consultation, checking conflicts, assigning follow-up, collecting documents, updating a client or tracking a referral. If staff must copy information between systems or maintain a parallel spreadsheet, the issue is not automatically that you need a large platform. It may be a small, well-defined operational gap. Bosseo describes custom builds such as client portals, intake tools, internal dashboards and referral trackers. The appropriate scope still depends on reviewing your actual process.
Recommended approach
Bring one recurring bottleneck to the review. Describe who performs each step, where information originates, which decision is required, what is entered more than once and what your team needs to see afterward. Treat a larger replacement project as a separate decision unless the review shows that a narrower tool cannot solve the problem.
