1. Start with the right geographic unit
The Census record identifies Ave Maria as a census-designated place, or CDP, in Collier County. It does not establish that Ave Maria is a city, that every nearby community should be treated as Ave Maria, or that a page for another place should use the Ave Maria label. This distinction matters when a law firm describes its service area. A page targeting Ave Maria should not quietly broaden its geographic claim to all of Collier County, the Naples metropolitan area or Florida. Those are different scopes and should be named separately if the firm actually wants to address them.
Recommended approach
Ask for a proposed geographic map that separates Ave Maria, Collier County and any additional communities or metropolitan areas under consideration. Approve only locations the firm can accurately serve and describe. Treat the Census population as context for the place, not as a page-count formula or traffic forecast.
