1. Define Cortez coverage before you set a paid-lead budget
The Census identifies Cortez as a municipality in Montezuma County. That relationship matters when you separate the city you want to serve from the county or other areas your firm may consider. It does not establish how many people search for a lawyer, how many firms compete, or whether Local Services Ads will produce inquiries. A useful review should therefore distinguish Cortez from Montezuma County and from any other service area you may wish to include. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads page describes management of practice-area categories and service areas, with targeting set deliberately around the case types and locations a firm wants. The decision is not to assume that a broader map is better; it is to identify where your firm accepts matters and whether it can respond to inquiries from each included area.
Recommended approach
Bring a written service-area policy to the consultation: Cortez only, Cortez plus selected parts of Montezuma County, or another clearly defined scope. Ask Bosseo to explain how each proposed area would be represented and reviewed before any budget decision.
