1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
A Whittier practice may use “Whittier” as one service area while also handling matters elsewhere in Los Angeles County. Those are different reporting questions. The Census record identifies Whittier city and its Los Angeles County relationship; it does not establish where prospective clients search, call or retain counsel. Bosseo’s public page says the dashboard can show keyword rankings and city data. The important buying decision is whether your view will separate Whittier from other places your firm serves rather than blend every inquiry into one local total.
Recommended approach
Before a consultation, list the places and practice areas your firm wants to evaluate. Ask how those geographic labels would appear in the dashboard, what counts as a Whittier-related inquiry, and whether a city label reflects a caller’s stated location, a landing page, a keyword, or another field. Do not treat the city’s population estimate as a forecast of cases or revenue.
