1. Set the geographic boundary before a story becomes a page
A West Covina firm may serve people in the city, elsewhere in Los Angeles County, across California or in a narrower service area. Those are different audiences. Bosseo’s public Legal News description says its system matches stories to a firm’s practice areas and state. That makes geographic scope a decision for your firm, not something to infer from the city’s population. A story involving West Covina may be locally relevant; a California law change may be relevant statewide; an event outside your service area may not belong on your site at all.
Recommended approach
Write down the geographic relationship that makes a story useful: location of the event, jurisdiction of the law, residence or workplace of the affected person, or another legally meaningful connection. Review whether the page should mention West Covina, Los Angeles County or California, and remove location language that could imply a service area you do not handle.
