1. Define the geography before reading the numbers
A Susanville firm may describe its service area in terms of Susanville, Lassen County, California or other locations it serves. Those labels are not interchangeable. The Census record identifies Susanville city and its relationship to Lassen County; it does not establish how far your practice reaches or which locations produce matters. A useful dashboard review begins by asking whether a location field means the search target, the caller’s location, the office location, the matter location or the client’s residence. Without that distinction, a city trend can be mistaken for county performance.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic fields are defined in the dashboard and how you would review Susanville separately from Lassen County or broader California coverage. Agree in writing which locations belong in each report, and do not treat the population estimate as a forecast.
