Set the geographic boundary before judging performance
The Census records Strawberry CDP as part of Marin County. It reports a population estimate of 5,830 for the 2020–2024 ACS 5-year period, with a margin of error of 772. The estimate describes the place; it does not show how many people search for a lawyer, submit an inquiry, become a client or generate revenue. A dashboard should therefore avoid treating Strawberry as a proxy for the entire county. Ask how location is assigned when someone calls, completes a form or arrives through a service-and-city page. A contact may live in Strawberry, seek representation elsewhere, or identify a different location during intake.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing ROI, write down the geographic questions the firm needs answered: Strawberry activity separately, Marin County activity separately, and any broader area the firm intentionally serves. Confirm whether location is based on a form field, call conversation, landing page, campaign source or another definition. Do not combine unlike geographic categories merely because they appear in one report.
