Start with the geographic record, not an assumed market
Spring Valley is a census-designated place in San Diego County. A firm may serve Spring Valley while also serving other parts of the county or California, but those geographies should not be blended when reviewing performance. Population is useful for defining the place under discussion; it cannot tell you how many people need legal help, which practice areas they seek, or whether a particular channel produces inquiries. Lead Attribution can make the location and service context part of a review without treating population as proof of opportunity.
Recommended approach
Decide which geographic labels matter to your firm before interpreting reports. Review Spring Valley separately from San Diego County, nearby communities and statewide work where those distinctions affect intake or budget decisions. Ask whether a lead’s landing page, intake answer and eventual matter can be examined together rather than summarized as “San Diego” or “online.”
