1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
A report can become misleading when Santa Barbara city, Santa Barbara County and a wider California market are treated as interchangeable. The Census record identifies Santa Barbara city as a municipality in Santa Barbara County. For your firm, that makes geography a measurement decision: determine whether a keyword target, call, form or matter belongs to the city, the county or another area you serve. The dashboard page says rankings can be tracked for service-and-city targets and that city data can support budget decisions. It does not establish which geographic configuration is right for your practice.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how location is defined for each tracked target and attribution view. Separate Santa Barbara city from Santa Barbara County in your internal reporting where that distinction affects staffing, advertising, eligibility or case review. Do not use the city’s population estimate as a forecast of demand or revenue.
