1. Start with San Bernardino geography, not population assumptions
A firm serving San Bernardino may define its service area around San Bernardino city, San Bernardino County or another relationship between the firm and its clients. Those are not interchangeable geographic claims. The Census record identifies San Bernardino city as a municipality in San Bernardino County and records 222,724 residents in the 2020–2024 ACS 5-year estimate. It does not say how many people contact law firms, which matters they need, how quickly they expect a response or whether a firm needs additional staff. Automation should therefore begin with the firm’s actual intake map rather than a population-based forecast. Identify the geographic boundaries that matter to your practice, then determine whether routing, qualification or follow-up differs by service area.
Recommended approach
On a consultation, define whether the workflow is for San Bernardino city, the wider San Bernardino County service area or another expressly stated geography. Keep geographic labels consistent in forms, staff assignments and reporting. Do not use the city population as a proxy for leads, cases or revenue.
