1. Start with the Ojai–Ventura County relationship
Ojai city is recorded in Ventura County. That relationship matters because Bosseo’s public description allows a firm to choose a statewide footprint or limit coverage to selected counties. Ojai should therefore be evaluated as part of the firm’s actual service geography, not treated as an isolated population number. If your lawyers serve clients throughout Ventura County, county-level scope may be a more coherent starting point than a single Ojai page. If the firm intentionally serves only selected communities, a narrower decision may be appropriate. The Census estimate identifies the municipality and its county relationship; it does not show that residents are searching for legal services or that a page will generate an inquiry.
Recommended approach
Map the locations where the firm accepts matters, then compare that map with a potential Ventura County footprint. Record whether Ojai is a primary service location, one community among several, or outside the firm’s practical intake area. Do not expand coverage solely because Ojai has a known population figure.
