1. Set the geographic boundary before choosing a budget
Nipomo is a CDP in San Luis Obispo County, not a synonym for the entire county, California or every nearby community. The Census record establishes that geographic relationship and the local population estimate, but it cannot tell you how many people search for a lawyer, how many firms advertise or how many inquiries a campaign would produce. Your first LSA decision should therefore be operational: which locations can your firm serve, and which locations should be excluded? Bosseo’s public LSA page describes service-area and geography targeting. That makes the consultation a place to compare your actual coverage with the locations available in the advertising program rather than treating Nipomo’s population as a forecast.
Recommended approach
Bring a precise service-area policy to the review. Separate Nipomo from the rest of San Luis Obispo County and from any other California areas you serve. Ask how location settings, proximity and out-of-area disputes would be handled, and decide what evidence will show that a lead came from an acceptable location.
