1. Start with the service area, not a population assumption
Lemon Hill’s recorded relationship to Sacramento County matters when you define the market your firm serves. A Lemon Hill page should not imply that every person in the CDP is a prospective client, that Sacramento County residents share the same legal needs, or that the population estimate predicts review activity. Instead, separate the firm’s actual service geography from the location used in its profile, website and consultation materials. Review whether Lemon Hill is one community within a broader Sacramento County service area, and whether the firm accepts matters from outside it. That distinction affects which clients receive requests, which local profile deserves attention and how inquiry sources are interpreted.
Recommended approach
Prepare a written geographic policy before implementation: communities served, matters excluded, and the profile or profiles that represent the firm. Use Lemon Hill and Sacramento County only where they accurately describe the firm’s service area. Do not use the Census estimate as a demand forecast.
