1. Set the geography before interpreting a number
The dashboard page describes tracking for service-and-city targets, city data and keyword movement. For a firm serving Lamont, the first decision is how the reporting geography should be defined. Lamont is a CDP in Kern County; it is not interchangeable with the county, a metropolitan area, California as a whole, or a household or individual. A ranking target that says “Lamont” answers a different question from one that covers Kern County or statewide searches. Population can establish that Lamont is a defined place with a recorded population estimate, but it cannot establish search volume, competition, leads, cases or revenue.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how Lamont targets would be separated from Kern County and broader California targets. Decide which geography belongs in each keyword group, lead view and source report. Do not approve a dashboard because a local number looks large; approve it only after the location definition matches the way your firm actually serves clients.
