1. Set the geographic brief before reviewing news
Happy Valley is a census-designated place in Shasta County, California. The Census record does not establish how far a law firm serves, which courts or communities matter to its practice, or whether people in the CDP are searching for a particular legal service. Those questions belong in the firm’s geographic brief. A firm may serve Happy Valley, additional Shasta County communities, a wider California area, or a narrower set of venues. Those are different editorial scopes. Bosseo’s public Legal News page describes matching stories to a firm’s practice areas and state. That gives the firm a starting point, not a substitute for deciding which locations, courts, agencies, highways, statutes, and client questions are relevant.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to review a written coverage map before selecting topics. Separate Happy Valley from Shasta County and from statewide California coverage. Define which geographic references are appropriate for each practice area, then reject pages that imply service in a place the firm does not serve. Do not use the 5,944 population estimate as a forecast of traffic or inquiries.
