1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Phoenix is recorded as a municipality in Maricopa County. The 2020–2024 ACS five-year estimate records 1,642,323 residents, with a margin of error of 179. That population figure is context, not proof of legal demand, search volume, competition or future case volume. It also does not establish that every inquiry comes from Phoenix or that your practice serves the whole county. Your attribution design should therefore preserve the distinction between Phoenix, other Maricopa County locations and any broader Arizona service area your firm has chosen.
Recommended approach
Before reviewing marketing performance, define the geographic labels your team will use for inquiries and matters. Ask whether a record should identify the visitor’s landing page, the location discussed during intake, the office or service area assigned to the matter, or all three. Do not treat Phoenix population as a forecast. Treat it as a reason to make geography explicit when you evaluate the path from inquiry to signed case.
