1. Make the geographic brief precise before discussing coverage
Glendale and Maricopa County are not interchangeable labels. Glendale is recorded as a municipality, while Maricopa County is the county relationship attached to it. A firm may serve Glendale only, several Maricopa County communities, or clients across Arizona. Those are different editorial boundaries. Bosseo’s public Legal News page describes monitoring for a firm’s state and matching stories to its practice areas. That state-level scope may be useful for Arizona issues, but it does not by itself establish that a page will be appropriate for Glendale readers or for a firm with a narrower service area.
Recommended approach
At a consultation, define the firm’s accepted geographic scope separately from its office location: Glendale, selected Maricopa County communities, Arizona statewide, or another permitted area. Ask how that scope would affect story selection, page language, calls to action, internal review, and reporting. Do not use Glendale’s population estimate as a proxy for the number of people searching for a lawyer or for the likely volume of inquiries.
