1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Ketchikan city and Ketchikan Gateway Borough are not interchangeable labels. The Census record identifies Ketchikan city as a municipality and records its county relationship as Ketchikan Gateway Borough. For a law firm, that distinction matters when reviewing a city target, a borough-wide service area or a lead’s stated location. Population alone cannot establish demand, competition, calls, cases or revenue. A dashboard should therefore make geographic definitions explicit rather than treating every Ketchikan-related interaction as the same opportunity.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how city, borough, Alaska-wide and other service-area data would be distinguished in the review. Agree which geographic fields are decision-useful before interpreting a location trend. If a report uses “Ketchikan,” define whether that means Ketchikan city, Ketchikan Gateway Borough or another scope.
