1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Bethel city and the Bethel Census Area are related but not interchangeable geographic descriptions. The Census Bureau records Bethel as a municipality and identifies the Bethel Census Area as its county relationship. That distinction matters when you review a lead’s landing page, service area or reported location. A page intended for Bethel city should not automatically be treated as evidence about every person or household in the broader Census Area. Population is eligibility evidence only. It cannot tell you how many people need legal help, which services they seek, how they search or whether a marketing channel produces signed matters.
Recommended approach
At consultation, define the geographic labels your firm wants to compare: Bethel city, the Bethel Census Area, Alaska more broadly, or another service boundary. Then decide whether location should be captured as an intake answer, examined through landing-page paths, or reviewed alongside case outcomes. Do not use the city’s population estimate as a forecast. Use it to keep the geographic question properly bounded.
