1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
A local performance view becomes difficult to interpret when “Sylacauga” is treated as interchangeable with Talladega County, Alabama, or every place your firm serves. The Census identifies Sylacauga city as a municipality and records its county relationship as Talladega County. Those are different geographic scopes. A report should state whether a keyword, call, form or matter relates to the city, the county, another Alabama location, or a broader service area. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard page describes city data as part of its decision view, including questions about which cities produce calls. The important pre-purchase issue is not whether a city label appears; it is whether your firm and Bosseo will use the same geographic definition when reviewing results.
Recommended approach
Ask for a written geographic definition for every location dimension. At minimum, separate Sylacauga city from Talladega County and from statewide Alabama reporting. Decide whether a contact is assigned by the person’s location, the searched location, the landing page, the matter address or another rule. Keep that rule stable so changes in the report reflect activity rather than relabeling.
