1. Define the geographic record before judging reputation
Mobile city and Mobile County are not interchangeable descriptions. The Census record identifies Mobile as a municipality and records its county relationship as Mobile County. A firm may serve the city, the county, additional Alabama communities or a combination of those areas. A review profile should therefore be assessed against the geographic area the firm actually serves, rather than against the city population alone. The 203,416 population estimate is useful for identifying the municipality’s scale, but it cannot prove that residents are searching for a particular practice, comparing firms or producing qualified inquiries.
Recommended approach
At consultation, state the firm’s intended service area in plain terms: Mobile city, Mobile County, Alabama more broadly or another defined combination. Ask how reputation reporting will distinguish that scope from general profile activity. Do not treat a larger review count as proof that the firm is reaching the right prospective clients.
