1. Set the geographic boundary before you build the intake
Your firm may serve Headland, Henry County or a wider Alabama territory. Those labels are not interchangeable. The Census record identifies Headland city as a municipality and places it in Henry County; it does not establish how far your firm accepts matters or which visitors are eligible. Video Intake can be structured around the locations and matter types your firm chooses, but the legal service area must come from your own policy. A visitor’s location should be treated as a qualification question, not as a proxy for case value or urgency.
Recommended approach
Write the service-area rule first. Decide whether the intake should ask for city, county, state, incident location or another location relevant to the matter. Then decide which answers should lead to a calendar option, staff review or a clear explanation that the firm may not be able to help. Test the wording for Headland and Henry County without implying that every resident has a legal problem or that every inquiry is suitable.
