1. Set the geographic boundary before reviewing news
Bosseo’s public Legal News page says its system monitors local and national legal-news sources for a firm’s state and matches stories to practice areas. Your firm still has to decide what “local” means for its service model. Cullman city and Cullman County are not interchangeable labels, and neither automatically represents every Alabama searcher. The Census record identifies Cullman city’s county relationship as Cullman County; it does not establish a metropolitan area, a statewide audience or legal demand. Ask whether a page should discuss a Cullman incident, a county proceeding, an Alabama law change or a matter elsewhere in the state. The answer should follow your actual service area and ethics review, not the size of the municipality.
Recommended approach
Bring a written geographic scope to the consultation: Cullman city, Cullman County, selected Alabama locations or statewide coverage. Ask how that scope would affect story selection, page language, calls to action and later reporting.
