Beaconsfield, Massachusetts is a small suburban neighborhood located in the City of Brookline, located in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. It has a rich and fascinating history that spans centuries and is today a thriving residential community with much to offer its residents.

After the deaths of Johnson and his wife, their possessions were sold to pay debts and were acquired by Edward Devotion, who bequeathed much of his estate to support Brookline’s oldest school still in existence.

The area that is now Beacon Street was once the route taken by British troops during the Revolutionary War but was later separated from Boston between 1804 and 1810 and became part of present-day Brookline.
